Already in 1917 the family business Lapuan Kankurit was founded in Finland. At the time it was a wool and felt boots factory. Four generations of weavers later, the company is run by Esko Hjelt and his wife Jaana. Wool and textile are still used; now with modern weaving techniques and top designers, but with the same responsible attitude towards people, traditions and nature.
Finnish woolen blankets with patterns from nature.
On the Kehrä woolen blanket you can see the pattern of tree needles from Finnish nature. You can use the blanket on both sides: beige / white or white / beige on the other side. Because of the soft colors, one of the sides always fits with your couch, favorite chair or on your bed. The dimensions of this blanket are 130 x 180 cm.
Advantages of a woolen blanket
It is of course known that a woolen blanket keeps you nice and warm. Lay a blanket over your comforter during the winter. It does not feel heavy and gives extra warmth on a cold night.
But you may not have known that pure wool keeps you cool in the summer. Wool ventilates and absorbs moisture so that your skin stays dry and cool in the summer. So feel free to wrap a wool blanket around you on a warm day. In the evening on your terrace for example.
Wool blankets are also very easy to maintain. Let them air outside occasionally, that's enough. Wool has a self-cleaning effect, is bacteria-resistant and dirt-resistant. If the blanket has become very dirty, you can wash it on a hand wash of a maximum of 30 ° C.
